    Justin Dada Aftab is an award winning composer, pianist, and educator from Southern California. His compositions have been performed throughout the United States and in Japan, where he is a published recording artist under Nami Records. Mr. Aftab is a resident composer for the independent game development studio, Nonadecimal Creative, based in Santa Barbara, and has done scoring for a variety of short films, video games, and digital comics. Additionally, Mr. Aftab works as an arranger and editor, with clients including the Walter Monk Foundation for the Oceans and Hollywood composer Tim Simonec.


    Aside from his activities as a composer, Mr. Aftab maintains a successful piano studio in Los Angeles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano and Composition from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a Master of Music degree in Composition from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance in Ann Arbor, and a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University, Northridge. His principal teachers include Charles Asche, Jeremy Haladyna, and Michael Daugherty.

    Justin Aftab operates a successful private music studio in Santa Clarita where he teaches piano, composition, and theory. Mr. Aftab’s unique and comprehensive curriculum combines elements of both American and European teaching systems and has been carefully refined over many years of intense research and application. Students in Mr. Aftab's studio have regular opportunities to perform through recitals, competitions, and certified examinations (MTAC, RCM). Lessons can be conducted both in-person and remotely.



    Justin Aftab is currently accepting commissions to compose and arrange works for the concert hall, video games, and film.
